It's Cherry Blossom Time in Washington DC - my favorite time to visit here.
Best place to see the cherry blossoms is around the Tidal Basin with the Washington Memorial and the White House to the north, Jefferson Memorial to the south, and the Lincoln Memorial to the West. Of course the Smithsonian Museums are nearby , World War II Memorial, FDR Memorial, MLK Memorial, Vietnam Memorial and so many more places to see and visit.
The Cherry Blossom Festival runs through April 16 with a parade on Saturday April 15. Now is the time to go as the blooms usually don't last until the day of the parade.
Take the Metro to the Smithsonian Metro Stop or the Federal Triangle. Sometimes I park at Arlington Cemetary and walk across the bridge to the Mall. There's a beautiful view of the city from the Lee Mansion in Arlington National Cemetary - now called Arlington House -which also overlooks JFK's grave.
Enjoy springtime in our nation's capital!
